...just for the Fred Whitton.

jwo's getting one too so I'll be jealous if I don't.  I went into LBS and they were talking about a Madone 5.2.  Are they nice?  Help!

Oh no, you definitely should get a bling bike.  That way:

if it goes wrong, it's because you're trying to ride a difficult event on a new bike

if it goes right, you clearly made the right decision and the new bike is worth every penny

;D

I lusted over a Madone 5.2 in TriSport in Letchworth last weekend.  "It wasn't me" so didn't buy it.

That's the only reason I can think why you shouldn't buy one.

you should.  Absolutely.  No Question At All.  Because you're worth it.

What's this "shouldn't" word.Does not compute.Syntax error.

There are no reasons not to buy a(nother) bike.If you have an itch, scratch it.

I agree with road-runner that it's a waste if you're only going to ride it very occasionally.

Tosh, it's lovely when you do use it - like a nice formal suit.  Get the bling! ;D
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

What you got?

Nothing yet, except a hole in my current account.  :'(

I'll have the bike on Wednesday hopefully.  Trek Madone 5.2 triple, and some clip-on tri bars.

PS It's very stable when standing on the pedals.  Amazing for something so light.

PPS Anyone want to take a Trek 1000 off my hands?  It seems rather surplus now though I could just use it as a turbo bike.

What size is it *hopes Maladict is a short arse*

If it is a 54cm, how many of my finest English pounds would it take to aquire such a velocipede?

I'm about 6ft tall and the bike is probably a 57cm frame.  I'll check tomorrow.

If it did transpire to be of the 57cm-ish variety, how much were you thinking?

Probably circa £50.  I'll post a pic and a proper description.

I should warn y'all, it's yellow.
