Today's lunch stop is at the Lakeland Pedlar Cafe in Keswick. Early brunch, looking good for arrival at Whitehaven this aft.

Well that's the more blunt way of putting it but as usual he's dead right.

Three word text message just received.

'Done! Update L8R.'

So there we are. From sea to shining sea over some of the hardest riding that England has to offer. No one said it had to be a 'sufferfest' and I'm sure it had some highlights and lowlights. It was ridden to schedule in the time allowed. it wasn't a mad dash like Aunty C later this month but it was a considered structured ride and I think that gives a sense of achievement. I couldn't have done it, that's a racing certainty.

Here at Mission Control it was always my intention to simply report progress, I don't even know that Liz wanted me to make this as public as it has become. I didn't know until Thursday night that her mate Graham Bentley was doing the ride for British Heart Foundation.

I'll wait and see what she has to say after a bath, some fish'n'chips and a couple of beers.

Meantime

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!

Final TXT update.

'Well we ain't dead. We've just had a lovely tea cooked for us and a post-prandial walk around the harbour. Home tomorrow.'

My guess is she's too knackered to give us a full report. I'm going to wait for a full report with pictures which I'm sure we'll get in the next few days.

Sleep well, you've earned it.
