Leeds Roads - what are they like now?
« on: 05 December, 2010, 02:13:01 pm »
On Thursday I was appalled at how bad the roads through chapeltown were - simply not enough grit down, lumps of ice like catseyes all over the road.

What are they like now?  I'm thinking of riding on Mon, but don't want to ride on that ice again.

Just driven through Leeds this morning - ok, not the route you'll be cycling - M621 in and A58 (North) out.

All the roads I saw were gritted and clear of snow or slush

A58 is part of my route - but that was clear last week. It's the roads in the city itself that were bad (and the A58 as far as collingham when the frost kicked in at night).

I can now saw that most of the main roads are fine. Apart from Roseville Rd, which doesn't seem to have seen a gritter.  >:(
