There is an interesting housing development just by the station designed in such a way that the brickwork already makes it look boarded-up.

Smaller windows are less easy to hit with bricks and airgun slugs.

We drove past Swindon on Friday, and again on Monday.

We were not tempted to stop.

This is one of the reasons I love this forum, we have people like dibdib and RZ "taking one for the team" by living in Swindon! Keep it up, it's much appreciated.

They are only practising so that when they've served their apprenticeships they can come and live in Southend.

I've only been to Sowfend twice, and both times it was raining. It's not a good omen, to be honest, even compared to Swindon.

One Swindon resident fathered six children.  He was their father and their grandfather.  Trufax.

I have just read the allegation that Swindon is twinned with Disney World. Is it true?

It's certainly something I've heard before, but I don't know enough to confirm it.

Sadly, no mention of Disney on Swindon.gov.uk (but let's not trust Swindonian Gubbinment to keep techy things up to date)

In an effort to drag this thread slightly closer to the forum topic, I dropped into Origin Cycles after work yesterday to check it out.

No bikes for sale - they're specialising in aftermarket stuff and repairs - but friendly service. Will be trying to use them more, as many of the other LBSes in Swindon are either chain stores or elitist jerks.
