Knee Replacement
« on: 09 April, 2011, 04:11:12 pm »
I am booked in for a total knee replacement on the 26th April, it was classed as urgent but I have been waiting over three months, so not too bad really.  I have previously had gfour operation on it in the 1980's so it's very ropey now.

I am looking forward to getting back on a bike afterwards, since last year I have been unable to do much at all and it's got worse every day.

Anyone out there have any good advice or similar experinces.  I found Marj's story but that got me a bit worried as it wasn't straightforward, which I have been warned mine may not be either due to the previous surgery.   It certainly can't be any worse that is is now mind but please, no total horror stories!

Especailly interested in recovery times, how it really feels after and about six months after.  etc

Not had knee but I had my elbow done 17 years ago. Brilliant, wasn't all that painful, I still play the piano now.
