I find ramekins handy when I'm doing the deep prep for Indian/Thai recipes. It's easier to have the spices and sauces all measured out before I start cooking.

Chocolate mousse innit.

or creme brulee, or baked eggs etc etc

If I had a baby elephant, it could help me wash the car. If I had a car.

I made creme brulee's over Christmas, as a bit of a change from a heavy stodgy pudding, they didn't last very long but I am told were delicious.

Ring ring!
-Hello, Police!
-I'd like to report a robbery.
-Where did the robbery occur?
-Chez Cudzo.
-Can you identify the items stolen?
-On an occasion or occasions between 24th December and 5th January, my legs, lungs and brain were removed and replaced with spaghetti, cotton wool and papier mache, respectively. As an example of the last I give you this: setting out upon my bicycle, I realised that my trouser-encompassing band thingy (elasticated cuff off the bottom of Mrs Cudzo's old trousers) was fastened around my left ankle...

We collect from various sets of flats with bin stores, for which we need entry codes. The gates have a number pad to get in, but a simple button to open the gates from the inside.

On Tuesday, we hit upon the fact that at one place we could open both sides of the gate instead of just one, and wheel the trikes in, as opposed to what we have been doing, which was open one half, walk in, collect the boxes, lug then outside and load at the kerb. Much easier to go in with the trikes. Expect this particular gate shuts automatically on the side that opens with the keypad. So when we came to go out, half of the gate had shut, and the half with just a bolt was still open.

No matter, I go out of the open side, take a glove off,  tap the code in, see the auto-half open and go back through to fetch the trike, to find my colleague laughing at me. Why hadn't I just pushed the button on the inside?

 ;D That's known as over-thinking!

BTW, did you find my legs in someone's recycling?

Sorry no. I'll keep looking.

I don't think we've had a bizarre find this week.

Some weeks are just more random than others. And it's the binstores that are often most productive. The faux antique globe drinks cabinet was a high spot last year.

Ar materials shop. Yes I know your opening hours are 9 to 5, but why stand there chatting amongst yourselves when there is a customer standing outside in the cold waiting at a few minutes to 9? Surely opening the door a couple of minutes early won't kill you?

I've just got back in from a day at my new employer having twiddled my thumbs for the vast majority of the day. The main boss was out & his deputy was too busy to allocate stuff to me, so I hope they get their act together soon.

The bottom bracket on my MTB has started to be seriously trashed rather than just a little dodgy. Looks like replacement may need to be sooner rather than later :(

Why did my front light have to jump off into a ditch where I couldn't see it in the dark? Getting home on a 0.5W flasher round unlit lanes is not an experience I'd like to repeat.

Also, I'm pretty sure the route I used today was all on road, and I was using a bike with guards, so why does my tourer now look like I've been Cyclo-crossing?

My wheelie bin looks like it's been cycle-crossing!  I know it was a bit wild here on Tuesday when it was emptied, but...
(Either the bin men left the lid open or it blew open later so there's water in it at the moment which is why I was looking at it so closely!)

I had the merest suggestion of a cold.

So why has my breathing decided to shut down?  Utterly useless all weekend, hardly able to talk on Sun. Yesterday off work.  Better today, but it will be a week before I can cycle again. Oh, ffs.

Barakta's gall bladder attacked again at Audax o'clock this morning.  She's back in sleep-and-feel-terrible mode.

Still nothing from the hospital.   :(
