Shame.

But they would be abbreviated to Clit and Tit, and we can't have that sort of thing now, can we?

One of our Professors used to refer to his Wife's cats as Cat 1 and Cat 2.

I quite like the idea of Ratchet and Sprocket.

There are plenty of potential names after things like herbs:  Basil, Bay, Catnip (!), Cinnamon, Dill, Ginger, Jasmine, Lavender, Mint, Nutmeg, Pepper, Saffron, Sage, Thyme (choose any two).

Booze also offers some options, hence Talisker.  Guinness is a fairly common name for black cats (especially ones in Pubs).
Actually, it is rocket science.

Good thinking , how about Cat 5 & Cat 5e (or 6 or 7)

Is that shorthand for Lazy Good-For-Nothing and Evil Spree Killer?

or Contrary Little Sod and Random Emetics?

Oh, well if we're talking about affectionate names, you should have said!

Bobb and Nonn.

You can only call one Gobbolino if he has one white paw. Is it wrong that I still remember the words to the first verse of the Gobbolino song?

Or... Cat 1 & Hors Cat (may need time to establish which kitteh is tougher or the better climber)

And surely Titus must be an option for one?

You could borrow one of Terry Pratchett's names for camels; "Bloody Stupid", "You Bastard", "Evil-Minded Son of a Bitch", "Evil-Smelling-Bugger", "You Vicious Brute" and "Evil Brother-in-law of a Jackal".

Of course this only really works if the kittens are mathematically inclined.
Actually, it is rocket science.
