Don't know whether to be happy or fed up.  Happy that there have been so many good performances or fed-up that the Durham players Stokes (world's best 2019) and Wood (44 of about an over and hurling it down at 94mph) are making sure that they'll be in no position to help their county out of the lower division next season.

Pope seems to have confirmed his test place.  Shame Buttler's not doing it.

From TMS "I imagine there's a few OCD folk struggling with the 499 declaration..."   S'funny I was thinking 499 'doesn't feel right'...   ;)

The thought is that they were trying, not very well, to 'throw caution to the wind' & avoid the follow-on...

Having just looked at the current score, I don't think yesterday's rain is going to make much of a difference WRT how long the match lasts. :demon:

or 4 for 87, as he finished!  Possibly a little self-indulgent in search of a batsman's 5-for?

4th and last test has been pretty exciting today! best bit:

- KP (commentating): what happened to Stuart Broad's batting? he was great when we played together...

- Broad scores 43 off 28 balls

82 runs for the last wicket (with Wood), off 9 overs.

England A, which I think is a euphemism for England 2nd XI, are doing rather well in Australia.

Now, that's very satisfying, especially with only minimal contributions from our home-grown South Africans.  Oh, hang on, I forgot about  Curran!
