London Olympics mean riders miss Tour de France

Well, probably not. The Olympics are starting at exactly the time normally used for the Tour of Poland, so the Tour de Pologne, as it's somewhat pretentiously known in Poland, is being shifted forward to start on the 15th July. This means it will coincide with the last week of TdF. But the organisers say there's no problem cos each ProTour Team has 25-30 riders and only 9 can start in France, so that leaves plenty of good riders available for the Polish tour, which has been growing in status for the past few years. "For many riders our tour will be their last race before the Olympics,"says Lech Piasecki, organiser of the TdP. Maybe. We'll see next year. Read it here in Polish if you want!
I do not ride a great big Mercian, gangster tanwalls, fixed cog in the back.
