Two Hooooge helpings of home-made Spag. Bol.
And there's still most of a Saucepan-full of the sauce for tomorrow.

Porridge and raisins.  They'll have been plumping up nicely in the milk all day.  Mmmmmm.

Black Bean and Red Pepper stir fry with the remains of a chicken we used for a Christmas card photo shoot and a grouse we found on the piste while skiing at Yad Moss on Sunday.

Last night we had a very agreeable Christmas dinner with Wandsworth Cyclists at Galapagos in Battersea.  Good food.  I had a lentil soup, followed by pennoni in some kind of sauce or other (a tasty one). Then bread & butter pudding.

Tonight, it'll be some leftover (and awfully nice) stuff cooked by Butterfly with baked spuds.  Simple and lovely.
Getting there...

M&S breaded chicken breasts and oven chips. This counts as a kind of bizarre treat in our house as we are usually a make from scratch family and pre prepared stuff like this is only for when too knackered or busy to cook. Today it is too busy.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

The LBS didnt have the part I needed but the butchers next door had a few dressed & ready for the oven, I couldnt resist.  Need to go and dig up our last few spuds.

I found two pheasants in the back of our overflow fridge freezer (aka the beer fridge in the garage) last week. The date written on the wrapper was 2006 so I decided I had better bin them. I thought there was only bread and ice cream in that freezer.

Late home.  Everyone has gone to the annual school performance, except me.  Found a pan on the hob, full of cooked vegetables and stock.  A note was left atop.

Blend for soup.

This is bringing back memories - have you checked whether you're meant to eat all of it?  :)

I'm having fish cakes and peas.

After a successful late sortie to Sainsbury's I had some little pork pies (the low dioxin variety) down to 10p each , and a bit of Red Leicester , also at a discount.

I have just been reminded of this because I have just had the same again for lunch. Stick with a winning formula I say.

Bruschetta, because nobody ate them.

I made a hundred of the little bastards. Crispy little slices of artisan peasant kissed bread, topped with fresh cheese, local serano type ham, dribbles of olive oil from my friend's trees...

Bloody hell, I will be eating them for breakfast as well!

I feel it was getting the peasants to kiss the bread that may have let you down, GP.  If someone saw, and the peasant was traditionally grubby, as the best peasants should be... well... what can I say?  There are philistines out there who fail to appreciate the authenticity of peasant kissed bread.

;D

Yeh, but how come I didn't get a kiss from a peasant?

I'd like to know what its like. Grubby rythmes with stubbly, and that sounds ok.

That can be arranged with no problems.

Chicken in a rich tomato and mushroom sauce with baby new potatos cut in half and lightly grilled with lemon and herb and a serving of sweetcorn, carrots, and broccoli. Basically everything I had in the fridge thrown together lol.

Gonna give it a good clean tomorrow and restock on Saturday :)
