A gin and tonic, a bottle of Corona, about 100g of Dairy Milk, and a packet of crisps.

I will hopefully get some decent meals in next week however, since the buggering about that's caused me to be at work until this time is now done.

This week I have mostly been eating as much comfort food as I can find.  I've been struck down with lurgy resulting in taking time off work for the first time in over ten years.  There is no fat laden food I have not eaten.  The fridge will not be safe again tonight....

On my box of offal it says "Mr Brain's caters for all faggot-loving families large and small".

I am personally disgusted by this insult and will be writing to my MP henceforth.

A Thai curry, made with tofu, broccoli, mushrooms and cashews. Hand-made sauce of chillies, garlic, ginger, coriander, turmeric, cinnamon, coconut and lime.  :P

We had some roasted duck legs, very nicely done mind!, with steamed rice and chopped fresh vegetables. Baby G enjoyed a mash and carrot puree with some raisins and corn.

Tomorrow is a 300k audax which means tonights dinner will be -

1. Big Pizza with lots of toppings
2. Trifle - probably a 2-man one for myself
3. Beer - to help me get to sleep early so I can get up and out at 4am

An excuse to eat big Pizzas is probably the main reason why I audax. I was gutted that I did a 1500km ride last week and didn't find a single Pizzeria on route.

There is a Domino Pizza place on the A390 in St. Austell which I can recommend having had one there at 4pm & another at 9pm the same day last week.
To get there at the end of a 1500km ride you would need to start somewhere near Bettyhill, north coast of Scotland

Domino and pizza somehow don't strike me as going well together though...  ::-)

Pork and herbs sausages with some nicely grilled bread, then BBQ steacks with a salad. It was lovely after a nice ride and a light lunch!

Well it was my birthday so we had a BBQ with family who conveniently arrived from Brazil via the Netherlands (interrupting their mini tour of Europe for two days just for the surprise)...

We therefore run a generous BBQ, serving French Toulouse sausages, large portions of streaky pork cuts, Aberdeenshire Angus steaks and some salad.

The chocolate cake was lovely too; only my daughter couldn't resist blowing the candle with Daddy! Very sweet.

A great family dinner!

Satay Risotto. I couldn't decide between chicken satay and risotto, so I went for both. Does nayone know if I've created a new dish?

We bought a whole Salmon today and cut into dinner sized portions for the freezer.

That left two very tempting steaks for tonight. Marinated them in Ginger, Spring Onions, Garlic, Balsamic Vinegar and Soy Sauce and then baked for twenty minutes in the oven. New potatoes from the garden and local french beans completed the picture with a sauce made from the fish stock. Twas very nice if I do say so myself.

Scallops in garlic (a lot of) and parsley in butter. Topped with lime at the end. Served with rice and a nice salad. Dessert: Grapes and chocolate Ben&Jerry ice cream.
