We're hoping to be there.  Riding from Bath to York and I'd anticipate arriving on Saturday morning.  Not sure how much of the rally we'll be fit to enjoy, but will be there in body at least...

Is that the car assisted lot, or the lightweight section (LW with the L badly written to look like a C)? In which case you will be almost next door to us (LW 16, 40 tents per row).

I hope it's lightweight - as I don't have a car and will be arriving by bike.  I'll check when I get home and if there's a problem I'll contact them to change it.

No worries about me sleeping I'll have ridden up from MK. Either a 250k straight ride up or maybe a 400k arrow. :D

I shall almost certainly be there.
Got my form filled in and ready to post today. All being well I'll be cycling there and be in the lightweight section, arriving on Friday afternoon and thus looking for something to do on Friday evening.

What about rides for Saturday ? What are people thinking ?

I am hoping to do the short family ride on Sat afternoon, and the traditional drinking dry of the Ship at Acaster Mablis on the velovisionaries ride in the evening.

Though Saturday may turn into a ride to the Viking museum with the kids.

We are purposely going up on Friday morning to do the Jorvik and Dungeon museums then before the Rally starts.  It means Elizabeth is having a day off school but it will be educational I suppose.

Hmm.. I've booked the train already.

Rachel is 11 - how old is Elizabeth? Maybe they'd like to meet up?

Marj is trying to convince herself that she will be well enough to attend.A decision will be made: I am told: on the morning of Friday 20th June.

Train booked.

GNER Glasgow - York dep 11.50.  Anyone else going to be on this train?

I'll arrive in York at 15.33.

Anyone any idea how far the campsite is from the railway station and rough directions?  I haven't got my pitch number through yet, but it is on its way ;D

I think I am LW83. The campsite is at the racecourse, aka The Knavesmire. It's very close to the station. I am sure google maps will help you.

I shall be arriving late afternoon on the Friday, in search of intoxicating beverages on Friday evening

Turn right out of the station. Over the bridge.
Turn right by the city gate on your left where everythign else turns right.
Follow that road. When it starts going downhill, look for the little yellow CTC signs to the left or follow signs for the racecourse. If you get to Tesco you have gone far to far.
Follow the road along the side of the racecourse till you get to the entrance.

About a mile and a half total.

Sadly not for me. I will be arriving back of 9 with two children. We then have to get tents up etc. by which time it may be too late to go hunting forummers.

Yes. We should arrange a rendezvous, bearing in mind I have met few of the folks on here, I don't want to walk into a pub in York and ask everone "are you epa611 or regulator" !!

I will want to eat first also. David Martin and I went to a curry house year before last, York Spice, it's still there I saw it yesterday. Or we could do our own thing regarding food and meet for after dinner drinks.

That was the Saturday night - You, me, Arthur and Leo.
Then we went to the velovisionaries ride to The Ship at Acaster Mablis (#1 son asked if we were doing that again this year.)

The year before last we met up in Tesco on the Friday night as I was obtaining a tent, sleeping bag, mattress and armchair for the weekend (having just cycled from Newcastle that day).

I think that my pitch is just behind MSeries (LW56), and I'm catching a fairly early train up, so hopefully we will be able to introduce ourselves whilst still sober.
