Drinking the first pint of the day* feeling slightly concerned about the noisy Dalwhinnie Three...

* My tea mug is a pint jobbie  :)

Leave it until the morning when you are staggering around getting ready for your commute.  ::-)

Sun has popped out here just now though I don't expect it to last.

Ride departure time in the morning for the social ride to Canons Ashby will be 10:00 - 10:30 and the route will be:

Long Itch, Bascote, Southam, Priors Hardwick, Byfield, Eydon, Canons Ashby, lunch, Depart towards Preston Capes but missing it, then long heading west back to Priors Harwick, take back lane and head to Napton on the Hill before stopping off for caik.  Then meander back to Long Itch lby whichever route Mlle PB decides upon.   We will not know that until she makes her mind up when leading us out after caik!   :D

Total ride less than 40 but there are a few sharp 'Northamptonshire' inclines to test the legs.

I'm on the first train, bound for Fenchurch Street. It costs £5 less than one bound for Lpoo St. I should have at least an hour for coffee and cake at Marylebone.

Class 168 opposite the reveal-a-door toilet job, IIRC.

Correct!  I am wondering why Chiltern railways can offer free WiFi when east fecking coast charge £4.50 an hour. Apart from the fact that EC are profiteering bastards, of course.

Wish I could set off now, instead of sitting here in this hell hole.  :(

I'll be catching the 18:13 London Midland from Mordor Central to Cofa's Tree.

See you later

Bugger  :(
Finances were touch and go for this after just moving house. Had just enough to get through the weekend and next week until I get paid. Just had EON clear most of this out by DD though  :(

Have a good weekend all, see you next time.

The machine that reels out / reels in the interweb cable doesn't have to wind it up so fast (100mph top speed vs 125 mph).  Nor does it cross any national borders, and has no interference with that pesky 25kV traction current.

Also, on East Coast, the WiFi is free in First Class, so the charge in Standard is an inducement to trade up.  Chilterns don't do First Class, so they might as well give the WiFi away to everyone.

I'm now not going to make it this weekend unfortunately - it's time for me to concede that I can't fit a quart into a pint pot just now!

In my tent listening to drizzle, pub noises, mild snoring, the distant main road and some mysterious wildlife sound from the direction of my bike...

Pedaldog.

Basil has just found an earwig in his saddlebag. He says he feels like a proper camper now.
