Yes.

A self Destruct button has been pressed.

Listening to John Terry's explanation is cringeworthy.

I couldn't muster up the enthusiasm to watch the foopball last night so I watched Prof Mary Beard's Romans thing instead, which was brilliant.

She's fantastic. "and no fanny doesn't mean that in Latin ...."  (referring to a tombstone to one Fanny Voluptua a pub landlady) :)
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Yes, I did like that bit. Those names were hilarious - they could have been taken straight out of Monty Python. Didn't the bloke have a name that meant "Hot Sex" or something like that?

… and at the very end of the programme… "… and all shitting together."

Voiceover chappie after programme: "Ahem, yes, thank you for that insight Mary."

Friend of ours was at school with Mary, and she said she was dead clever even then.

@Domestique, yes there is, but there is also a lot of very considerate driving, just like most other places....

Tonights recommendation has to be Metalworks! on BBC Four, unfortunately just finishing (but should be on iPlayer) a fascinating account of how Henry VIII, among others pushed forward the art of armour making.

Lovely articulation! Lovely bluing and gilding! Lovely big armoured bear!
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

Ooh, missed that but I like the sound of it. I'll have a look on iplayer. Thanks for the tip off.

Just figured out why I missed the first one - it's got that Dan Cruickshank on it. Meh.

TV - of sorts. Or rather, the second series of Borgen. Just finished the box set (imported) and its great as ever. I understand it will be shown soon on BBC4, something like that.

Tonight (30/05/12)  on BBC4 at 22:00 - as a precursor to Punk Britannia on Friday there's   Evidently - John Cooper Clarke

Just caught the final half hour of the JCC doc, definitely on my list of all time greatest Englishmen. OGWT now on BBC4, classic early Banshees plus more JCC. I love BBC4
