Quite a dark opening episode
I watched it last night. Quite enjoyed it. It was indeed a bit dark. It felt like a proper Doctor Who episode.
Some good lines -
"You're interfering in things you don't understand."
"Yeah, well, we all need a hobby."
The whole "Tim Shaw" business was amusing, and "Eat my salad, Halloween" made me chuckle.
Jodie Whittaker appears to be channelling David Tennant.
One review posited a possible change here as r=the new team is not from a SciFi background, but more human based drama. Is there a possibility that we will be seeing more episodes where the human story is more pronounced
I do hope not. It's been too much emphasis on "human story" that has put me off the last few series. There was a bit of it in this episode but not at the expense of a proper plot, which was pleasing. I hope it continues that way.
RTD and Steven Moffat weren't from a sci-fi background either.
