Just back from an enjoyable evening with friends listening to this wonderful pianist and her group at the Capstone in Liverpool. (the live band had Davide Mantovani on bass).  Superb musicianship and lots of chat with the friendly, appreciative and (sadly rather small) audience.  This was the 2nd time I've seen her, she was playing as part of Courtney Pine's group last year.

The first track was spoilt by the Capstone's official photographer taking repeated pictures in the aisle with a noisy camera, a member of the audience sent him packing and complaints were made to the venue management.

The rest of the tour dates are here, well worth catching http://www.zoerahman.com/live/

She played keyboards in our band for a few years.  My recurring unfunny joke with her was when I heard she'd had the occasional hair trim (reducing the length from 100cm to 98cm) I would claim to hardly recognise her.

Talented and seemingly shy as she was she survived in the macho world of rock very well.
