Early this morning, Mottisfont, Hampshire.

It's a great location for Bluebells but I've missed it for years.  This morning I saw it was foggy and leapt in the car.

I shot Micah P. Hinson's gig in Islington last night:

 :-\

But hang on a cotton-picking moment, Mr R!  How did you take that photo?  I thought you'd smashed your 1000D.

Oh, you fiddled with it and removed some bits of lens, and it seems to work...

Nice shots  Charlotte.
Not taken anything for me in a while. Just a couple of snaps this weekend.

I grabbed this photo of this Whovian creation largely made from hay. That was during a stop for ice cream at Snugbury's to look at a car.

And a quick grab from the garden whilst the sun was shining on the bluebells. Pity the flickr algorithm seems to have it look over sharpened:

I only made it as far as the garden...

Bluebells, of course:

Bracken beginning to unfurl:

and peonies, still just a bit short of bursting out all over:

Lovely, Billplumtree!

Our own peonies are in a similar state, and maybe I should have got my arse outside when there was still dew about, instead of playing with various computing devices and preparing my exhibits for being exhibited.  These are not photographic exhibits, but garden railway models which will be on display in support of the Friends of Sierra Leone National Railway Museum, on 17th/18th May at Fawley Hill.

Note to self, get camera fired up tomorrow morning before I go to work at 7am!

I was out in town visiting some places with some family (the Cabinet War Rooms are an amazing piece of history), when I heard some cackling....

Won't somebody think of the hamsters!

Spent the weekend in Belgium, based in Nieuwpoort and visiting many of the Great War military cemetaries as part of the Centenary events that finish on 11th November 2018.

Just so I don't feel left out..

Playing in the garden with an old Canon 75-300 that my Dad dug out of his dusty 35mm camera bag (and we were amazed that it works perfectly well with my brand new EOS).

False Creek Sunset:

(edit) Any way of over-riding the image width settings? It really kills panoramic pictures.

Saw these on a Thursday cycle ride and headed back there this afternoon.

So hard to resist when you see Bluebells, literally, as far as you can see and you know they will be gone within a week or so.

They really do love a tumble-down woodland don't they?

I don't remember a year like this for them.

Nipped out yesterday and grabbed a few frames depicting Stafford "Mayor's Family Fun Day".

It's a celebration of both a new Mayor (Councillor Ray Sutherland) and 400 years of Mayordom.

I did a quick editorial shoot down on the Embankment with American musician Robert Francis on Friday.  Really nice guy - we ended up in the Cheshire Cheese for a pint afterwards before he had to dash off for a radio interview.

Big lights, small camera - I shot this with my x100s because it syncs with the flash so much faster than the Nikon...

Actually from about three weeks ago, but that's as good as a day at the moment for my picture making

Nice to be able to put anything up to be honest.

Whilst on a regular Tuesday evening walk with my Wife we managed to dodge the storm last night but got to see some worrying looking storm clouds gathering in the last of the evening sun.

Binley, Hampshire.

It did cross my mind that the Soviets had finally had enough of us criticising their Ukrainian policy and nuked the tiny hamlet of Binley.

Binley again.

Because of forecast rain Ileft my DSLR at home and grabbed my £50 Canon A495.  I'm really please with results it delivered (with a bit of HDR help from Adobe).

This one dates from a good while ago, but I unearthed and tweaked it a bit yesterday, and I'm quite pleased with the outcome.

It's actually an action shot. She was crocheting away like a bat out of hell.
