Jake Humphreys was very good, wasn't he? But I can't help thinking there must be a conflict of loyalties for Jamie Staff in the pundit box, seeing as he's the sprint coach for the US team. Looks like he'll be setting up something similar in his native Kent soon mind, and dividing his time 'twixt the two.

Cav seemed to be on the receiving end of a few dugs in the box! JS made a comment about Chris being  a gentleman compared to some arrogant athletes <glance at Cav>.

There were also a few comments about gold medals pointed at him.

He seems to have a thick skin though!

I thought Mark Cavendish came across very well. He's had a few digs from the others, but he's taken it well, and always seems so cheerful.

Well, this might cause some difficulties in the SPOTY vote.

Just award it to everyone.  ;D

It's probably not necessary this year - just have a massive celebration of the team's success.

I wonder if the angling community would be able to try rig the vote again this year.

I seem to have missed this. What happened?

There was an angler called Bob Nudd who got the most votes for SPOTY 1991 after the angling community corralled everyone into voting by printing forms in fishing magazines and suchlike. The BBC discounted the votes, and SPOTY was awarded to a footballist.
