Watched
An American Werewolf In London last night with my 14yo son. I think I was about the same age when I first watched it, and I found it mostly terrifying. He found it mostly hilarious.
Admittedly, some of the special effects haven't stood the test of time too well. It's still a great film though. And lots of it is obviously meant to be funny. Plus, if he's anything like his father, he'll have appreciated Jenny Agutter's contribution to the film, though we didn't actually discuss that aspect of it.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows the day before yesterday. Not as good as the first one - the story is too incoherent and rambling, it drags on far too long, and although I'm perfectly willing to accept a certain amount of preposterousness in the name of entertainment, this film goes somewhat too far down the road of ridiculous implausibility. And Stephen Fry is awful as Mycroft.
