Nightcrawler

Thriller. With psychology. And political/social commentary. Not a straightforward film, but very good.

Mr Cox is getting much stick on the infinite monkey cage for being the science advisor on that film.

Or....imagine how much more nonsensical it would have been without him.

As previously discussed, if you set yourself up as a science film then you it's going to be judged as one.

Far better perhaps to say that Bonnie Langford was your scientific advisor.

Indeed, I wouldn't be surprised if turned out that they craftily bulk-ordered a load of his hair products on the production budget and shared them with the cast.

Grand Prix - on the telly last night.

Haven't seen this in years. The story line is a bit thin but oh the cinematography and the sound track !
Mid 60s racing cars on full tilt with the first ever footage from cameras mounted on the cars during real races. No filming at low speed and the speeding it up here.
The banked curves at Monza and the old Spa long circuit when it was the deadliest race track in the world. Plus cameos by Graham Hill, Joakim Rindt, Fangio, Jim Clark and Jack Brahman.
Some of the actors really couldn't drive very well at all apparently and Yves Montand scared himself so much in a race car at the beginning of filming that all his later scenes have the car being towed ! On the other hand James Garner was so good that several of teh drivers took him aside and said he was good enough to be a professional racing driver.
I think I might have to buy this on DVD.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

When the Seagull follows the trailer it is because he thinks he is the best artist to be seen

Mind you you can blame Wikipedia for the Jochen Rindt one as I actually looked up how to spell it ....

Come on, Seagull is class. I dare anyone to watch Under Siege and not have the very breath theatrically removed from their body. Admittedly some of his latter corpus of work perhaps wasn't his best. That's not quite the way my wife describes them when I make her watch. Van Damme, of course is better, mostly because he bought a friend of mine a pizza and is apparently a thoroughly nice chap.

Fast and the Furious 7 and Taken 3.

Both very enjoyable action films :)

I think we need a low-key BBC drama about Tommy Flowers to make up for it.  With Eddie Izzard.

You know, I don't think I've watched my BluRay of Blade Runner on my big TV yet (with associated Sound-Bar and Sub Woofer).

That's Sunday evening sorted.
