Fuzzy may be right. I only remember the singing and the ambience, not the actors (or boat name).

Watched two films this weekend. Tropic Thunder and Don't mess with the Zohan.

My stepson has really really lousy taste in films.

The best that can be said about 'Don't mess with the Zohan' is that it makes Tropic Thunder look good.

Stepdaughter said, in agonized tones "Why did I watch that? I could have done homework; it would have been more fun."

Tropic Thunder is truly pathetic bilge, with scarcely a laugh.

There must be something seriously wrong (or juvenile- or both) with me as I thought Tropic Thnder was a real hoot.

Maybe it's the presence of Ben Stiller that made it so unbearable.

The trailer for 'Satan's Alley' at the beginning is brilliant - then it goes downhill in humour and style like a dungball down a waterfall; it stinks and falls to pieces.

American History X. I don't know how but this slipped by me and I've only just seen it for the first time. It was ok, predictable in parts. Edward Norton was excellent, the man is a chameleon!

Well, it was nearly worth it to see Steve Coogan get his head blown off, but otherwise I agree.

I was made to watch that by my (now ex-) GF.  I enjoyed it, but she did not seem to enjoy Romper Stomper, which I made her watch straight after....

The Bishop's Wife followed by Hobson's Choice.  ::-)  ::-)

There's a reason we don't make films in B&W with mono soundtrack anymore.  :hand:
It's because they're shite!

The A-Team. It was surprisingly enjoyable and very well made.

I started watching Short Cuts but gave up after 20 minutes. So much background noise in every scene, I couldn't hear the dialogue.  >:(

Now I'm watching The Lovely Bones. I usually quite fancy Stanley Tucci, but not in this.

The Black Swan (as in Natalie Portman, ballet, Tchaikovski).

Intense. Melodramatic.

I wanted to like it, but there was a lot I didn't like about that film. It was unintentionally funny in parts for a start. And I just wanted to feed Natalie Portman some pies.

How To Train Your Dragon, which was quite amusing.

Toothless is so based upon a domestic cat, I can see so many of the ways he behaves in my moggy!
Actually, it is rocket science.

I've always wanted to do that too.
It is simpler than it looks.

I found the last half hour of Black Swan to be the most amazing and intense cinematic experience. You have to relax and immerse yourself in the film, don't worry about what is happening, just allow yourself to experience her emotions. I could watch it several times...

Saw "Salt" and "Narnia; The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" yesterday. The later was superior to the first mentioned

127 hours.
Not a film that you say you can 'enjoy'. Intense.
Had my daughter (17) in tears.

I thought they did a very good job of that, considering that they made a film based on being stuck for 127 days. Just as I'd imagine it to be in that situation.

You might want to go and see, "The Way Back."
Not quite so gory and more of a story to it. Worth seeing on the big screen to capture the lanscape better. The landscape is a significant part of the story because they are crossing it.

The Book of Eli

I enjoyed this film- Denzel Washington knows his stuff and thought the cinamatography was great. The atmosphere created by the skies and the washed out colour was perfect.

Hollywood ending though- Natch.
