I see that teethgrinder's average speed has dropped from mach 1 to 13.37kph.  If he were inclined to geek jokes, I'd suspect that was deliberate.

If you know their numbers GB could add them to his fantastic tracking page?

edit Hummers X5

Greenbank, could you add Bas in Quest velomobile (D47) and Morten Himmel (R7) whose Mum was panicking about him! I'm keeping an eye out for them and am off to Great Easton shortly with limited phone signal so all in one place would be great! Thanks.

Done!

BTW, if you want to just follow a couple of people then you can do that by adding a comma separated listed of rider numbers as the cgi parameter, i.e.

http://www.greenbank.org/cgi-bin/lel2013.cgi?rnlist=D47,R7

to list just Bas and Morten. All of the subsequent links will be limited to those two riders.

Will be much easier to follow on the 'phone.

If you want to get back to normal then just remove the rnlist=* parameter.

I see that ChrisS and Fboab have a two minute time difference. Are they riding a very long wheelbase tandem?

OK, latest updates:-

http://www.greenbank.org/cgi-bin/lel2013.cgi

* Time in Hand now based on real control closing times from the brevet card (adjusted to rider's start time)
* New column showing how far ahead/behind they are if they got to the next checkpoint right now (useful for seeing who's up against the time limits)

Greenbank,  Many thanks to you for adding the elliptigo riders (Idai and Alan). The time in hand info is very useful. I can see now how close they are.  Alan is making good time but I think Idai is on the limit - looking at Idai's times I am guessing that he may have had a mechanical at or around Brampton which held him back.

I'm sorry if Idai is actually up against it.  I had a very good chat with him at Eskdalemuir last night and he seemed fine in himself.  He described the purpose of the Elliptigo as a running training machine.  It's pretty astonishing to think of these "standers"  pretty much running 1400k.  I hope he's ok; he is both a gentleman and a strong-man.

Peter,  thanks for the update - Idai is a strong guy. He's managed to make it to thirsk but he is one hour down. Looking at the times I think he must have had a mechanical around brampton. Looks like now he is back at normal pace. I am hoping that he can do the final 400 before his 2am cut off on Friday.

Alan C57 looks comfortable based on the times he has.

Glad to help - good luck to them both!

Edit:  When we spoke at Eskdalemuir, I think (I was very tired) that he was intending to do a sleep at Brampton, so he may not have had a mechanical.

Peter, when Idai and Alan finish they will have completed the longest official event that anyone has done on an elliptigo. There is a list of people who have completed an organised 100 mile event with the cut-offs  on an  elliptigo on the company's website - so far only about 80 peolpe have been able to do that distance so doing a 1400km event will be a major achievement for both of them.

Dean Kanazes (a US ultrarunner) did a multi-day 500mile road trip on the elliptigo and hyped it to the max - doing the LEL will be something else altogether.

I must have missed Alan - he appears to be doing fine.  The thing that impressed me about Idai was his composed demeanour.  He had just completed 500 miles and betrayed no stress at all, while all around him could be seen the whole range from euphoria (occasionally) to catatonia (frequently)!  Perhaps it is the lack of a sore backside?!

No problem.

I'm off to take MiniGB swimming in an hour, and then to the park with a friend of hers, so I'll probably be out until 6pm. I'll then have an hour to fix anything last minute and collect my stuff before I head over to Loughton (there by 9pm hopefully, it's a bit of a slog from SW London on public transport but a lot less of a slog than 1420km on a bike).

GB and EF, thanks for doing this - as was the case during PBP, it has really made a massive difference to be able to see how everyone is doing so conveniently
