I believe that Bristol's pub night is a Thursday. It was when Mrs. Wow and I went in the spirit of entente cordiale, moi loveur.

Ride to a pub with accommodation nearby.  We then spend the evening in the pub interacting with the locals.

Maybe Joss might be open to us camping in his pub garden - worth an ask at the extraordinary AGM.

As for interacting with the locals.........oh no not again!!!!

Good idea about camping at The Compasses.  They ran a campsite at the recent beer festival.  I hope you'll be there to take photos!

Right then folks, Wednesday night saw me, Huggy and Tomsk sit down in The Compasses and convene an Extraordinary General Meeting to discuss the Christmas Do.  The outcomes of the meeting were officially recorded  in The MEMWNS Little Book of Big Ideas.

Decisions made

1. Date confirmed as Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th December
2. Meeting point to be D's Diner, A12 slip road, Hatfield Peverel at 1000hrs
3. The ride then proceeds to the White Hart, Margaretting Tye for lunch
4. After which the ride will proceed to The Compasses, Littley Green for the remainder of the event
5. There will be camping for those that want it
6. Huggy volunteered (kind of) to wear The Musky Reindeer Pelt of Destiny ;D
7. Nominations for the MEMWNS Trophy should be made in secret to Huggy

Actions

1. Everyone - Please indicate whether you can come along as tables and camping pitches need to be booked.  Don't feel you have to take part in all the elements of this epic.  Just come along for the bits you can manage.  The important thing is you're there!
2. OD - Book a table at the White Hart
3. OD - Approach Joss about camping at The Compasses.  Or contact Sewards Hall Farm
4. OD - Propose a route
5. OD - Put the event in the yacf calender

I think that's everything.  What have I missed?

I am (weather permitting) riding Nips 2 from Norwich on the 7th, but intend to train down to an appropriate station and indulge in Beer & Chips (or some variant of those food groups) before returning to Diss on the last train (for added entertainment).
Ice will have me not Nips-ing, and playing with Essex Bois all day

So, that's +1 for evening meal, (probably) no day ride, (almost) definitely no camping.

I shall ascertain how Mr Smith feels about accompanying me, now that he is safe from having to wear the Musky Pelt Of Destiny.

excellent work.

I've put it on the diary, but might clash with a work trip. If I do make it, I'll probably join you at lunch and bring my tent.

That weekend appears to be free. I would like to think I have the necessary for a full weekend, which I will consider. I will discuss with Dez and Mrs. Wow. At the moment, the option I think is most likely is to get a train to breakfast and spend the day in you august company whilst Mrs. W and Dez come to Littley Green in the car.

WAGs are always welcome   Off-spring too.  If Dez does join in can I ask that the pair of you wear name badges as I can never tell you apart.  I'm sure other people struggle as well.

But you have a very nice tent, which is tragically under-used!  ;D

Forget about the 9 Saturdays left for Christmas shopping there are less than 45* cycling days left before the Mid-Essex Chapter yacf Christmas Do  :o
With that very much planted in your minds you are cordially invited to submit nominations for the 2013 MEMWNS of the Year trophy.  As tradition dictates nominations are secretly PM'd to the incumbent - that honour is mine until the evening of 6th December.

Please send the name of your nominee with at least 3 justifying reasons that person is worthy of the esteemed privilege of receiving the MEMWNS of the Year trophy at the Christmas Do.

The precedent has been set that the recipient does not in fact have to be present to have the honour bestowed upon them, however the trophy does need to be displayed in a prominent position in the abode of the winner.

NOTE: Nominating previous winners of the trophy should be avoided. Previous winners are - 2010 Tomsk, 2011 Oaky, 2012 Huggy

As a reminder of what is at stake here is the trophy in all its glory lovingly cuddled by Rudolph - musky pelt of destiny (or is it Morris the Moose?)
