Technically more of a trentipede.
It's not dark yet but it's getting there.

House centipede

How useful!

Quote
House centipedes feed on spiders, bed bugs, termites, cockroaches, silverfish, ants, and other household arthropods.

However,

they need an environment that protects them from dehydration and excessive cold.

It was captured when apparently eating filler I had recently applied before plastering.  I'd guess it was trying to rehydrate as the room is drying out rapidly and will be very arid.

Most live outside, primarily under large rocks, piles of wood

Releasing it in my wood store was probably exactly what it needed.
Sic transit and all that..

Yes, now I know what it is, so am I!  However, I reserve the right to kill all mozzies that cross my path.  It's them or me..

It is not an insect. It is an arthropod.

Insects are arthropods too. It's a great club to belong to if you have many legs. Well, more than six. They're strict like that. Centipedes are chilopods.
