Hmm. We've had very bad luck getting to these! Our current fitness is so low, that May might be a bit ambitious :-\

Thread title now updated.  :)

No pressure to go on the Saturday trundle if Clarion and Little duck need caring for.   Having said that the pace is sedate and the distance 40 miles with only a couple of knee grinders.

Barakta's expressed interest.  Specifically in steak and me filling the bike trailer with 12kg of tent and a giant air mattress.   ::-)

We'll see.

With a ~50k ride from/to home, she may be up for skipping or shortening the Saturday ride anyway.

That would be a train.

This represents a rare opportunity to do some Proper Cycle Touring, of the kind that starts from your front door, and doesn't involve towpaths.

(I really don't want to try to get the electrified trike on the train with any kind of luggage.  The balance is all wrong for lifting unless you remove the battery, which means you then have even more unwieldy objects to get on and off a train.)

((On the gripping hand, with a 50km ride and a mains socket in the pub, the trike could carry most of the weight.))

It occurs to me that a) I'll have the Croix De Fer by then (yes, a bike with gears) and b) it's about 140 miles so if I can swing a long weekend I may well load up and ride down ...

... or just load up the Divide Ride and twiddle down on 58" fixed ...

Either way, I reckon it's definitely doable.

Wot no AWL?  I am gasted of my flabber!   :D
I really should make the effort,  I know. However, AWL Jr's swimming is coming on in leaps and bounds, metaphorically speaking, and he has umpteen galas in the coming months, as I've already mentioned. Hopefully I can get over at least one of the days, perhaps with Little Miss AWL. I won't add myself to any lists until I know better what the AWL household schedule is.

Arris. Things going on that weekend, else would have been a good target for a tiny bit of fitness. Will check if the things are critical.
It is simpler than it looks.

I would like to have done it, but it clashes with the district scout camp :(

Myself and the delightful Mary are interested but it depends on the arrangements of Group Scout Camp, it's usually the weekend after but may be this one.

You can remove my question mark from the list of attendees - I'm going to do this even if I have to drive down or, heaven forbid, get the train.

Here! It's pencilled in the diary - will hopefully be able to give a definite answer by the time you get around to the final roll call.

If I get myself organised I may even be kitted out with front structural things and panniers by then. Can't imagine what I'd fill them with on such a short tour, though...

I'm doing a part time MA over at Bower Ashton, but last week they let us play in Knowle West.

Yay!!!

I'd suggest flakes or chocolate hobnobs but I've put myself on a serious weight loss programme and nobody else eats such junk, surely?    ;)

Cooooooool! One of my cousins went there and she's now a Famous Artist*. But you have already achieved fame.  You must see if you can make it to a YACF Bristle Pub Night.

*Has a print on display in the city museum, anyway.

It's in the diary. Hopefully older daughter's surgery will be a thing of the past and a complete success and we will be able to trundle out.
