Riders of the purple sage
« on: August 27, 2014, 01:11:53 pm »
Deano and I have found a flat or downhill ride around the Pennines.  We were blessed with crystal clear air and views of Cross Fell, Cheviots, North Yorkshire Moors and the sea.  The purple heather was out too and Deano though the reference to Zane Grey's book was appropriate.  I didn't.

Good of you not to mention me whinging about you not routing us back along the Lanchester Valley Path (note for anyone doing the BP: it's flat along the old railway line from Lanchester to Bear Park).

Anyway, it was all purple:

I'm currently in the London area with work, and my goodness, it is busy round here!  Cycling in the Northeast is pretty marvellous because we get long stretches of empty roads with inspiring views.

I wondered if phantasmagoomagoriamariania might be along shortly... the words purple and flat had been used in a single thread.
