I'd be terrified covering most of that terrain on foot* never mind en vélo!

*Most likely on hands and knees.

Having been up the Cuillin on foot a few times, I'd say you assessment is spot on. The thought of carrying a bike up the Inn Pinn gives me the shivers. I used a rope when carrying a small day sack...

I climbed the Inn Pinn as a penniless student oik with jSabine OTP some time ago (19ahem..). The snow on the ground at the time made it quite entertaining. I'm sure I have the photo somewhere where he is saying 'put down that camera and take hold of the rope'.

Was that also the day when I was a bit apprehensive about some move, maybe an off-balance step between two lumps of rock up on the ridge or something similar? You were very reassuring, extended an ice axe or a ski pole for me to clutch - then entirely spoiled the effect by, once I'd made the move, pointing out that if I'd slipped you'd have let go.

It was a long way down ...

We knew his boat was going to disappear. He didn't tie it up - we both said - "Your boat won't be there when you get back" - and we were right.

Yes, it was a move along the ridge of Sgurr Dearg on the way to the Inn Pinn. :) It was a psychological crutch for a move you were well able to make. Must dig out that photo..

On my first ascent of the Inn Pinn (with John S as recounted above) we had fantastic weather, blue skies and sunshine with views that took your breath away.

I was especially impressed that he could do all that with a helicopter above him. Then I saw a credit for the Drone Pilot........

Well spotted, I had an image of the usual camera crew scrambling over the rocks and him having to do numerous repeats to get it right.
Of course they wouldn't show the one he got wrong! :-)

A brilliant piece of filming, and riding of course.
