As of this morning, I have recorded 75.5mm rain for November. If tomorrow’s forecast is to be believed, that could well become 100mm by Friday.

Supposed to chuck it down all day tomorrow in Sunny Sussex By The Sea*.  Just what I need for transferring Luggages from the Fast-Appreciating Future Classic to the tour van in a motorway services car park.

The song Sussex By the Sea was written by a Mr. Ward-Higgs. He was also something of a chess player and I think it is the National Inter-County Correspondence Chess Championship trophy that is known as the Ward-Higgs Trophy.

YACF - nothing if not a mine of totally random information.

Edit: there are even some of his games online. https://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessplayer?pid=160880

Just had a gander down our well. All summer there's been nothing but dried mud & leaves at the bottom, maybe 4 metres down, but now the water's standing a less than a metre below ground level.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

For the first time this winter my car gave me an ice warning this morning (triggered when temperature is +3C or below).  The gym was definitely a bit chilly before we got going.

It's the mixture of Black Fridays and White Christmases that results in so much greyness at this time of the year.

Cripes it’s chilly this morning (ETA and quite a bit colder than the - 1C forecast judging by the lumps of ice in place of water) but bright and clear except for the haze to the south created by the contrails over the distant metropolis. And none of the three neighbours who have so far gone out in their cars scraped the frost. All left engines idling, two whilst back in the comfort of their homes  >:(

Sadly not cold enough to freeze the door-to-door Christianity salesmen of Hastings.  Shame, really, because we need to fill some potholes on the road to hell.

Miss von Brandenburg reports SNO in that Germany, that they have now.  Somewhere between Rheine and Dessau which, admittedly, covers quite a wide area.

No sign of sno here, which is good as I am not experienced at driving in sno and now have a high-powered car with rear wheel drive and wide tyres. What could possibly go wrong?

Quite wintery-looking here in York. Last century, we had weeks of freezing fog within which the smog from coal-burning power stations was trapped, so in that sense a big improvement.

Raining in Sanny Sarfend as well. Bloody 'orrible weather. We haven't had an air frost yet, but this morning there was certainly a ground frost.
