For the veterans of KTTR or night rides over the NY Moors, it's the track opposite the sheep shelter. It's a shortcut which cuts out a lot of descending and climbing, too. You do have to make sure not to turn right instead of left when you return to tarmac, though

This was after a wet, grassy bank.

The weekend before last I led two yacf chums on a little ride to Clacton taking in a much COR as I could find.  I was riding my Disc Trucker with mildly appropriate tyres, tippers of this parish was on 28c slicks  ;D

Anyhow it was muddy, I fell off and then nearly tumbled into a water filled ditch.  On one occasion we had to get off and walk ...

Twas fun

I was thinking of something a little more non-vertical, though I dare say you're working up to it - warming up the audience, so to speak!

Excellent stuff!  And before nobody asks, I was completely unhurt (I have no pride) and did more damage with the chain-ring while we were having an ice-cream than I did here!

Fine.  It's used to it as it was a cyclo-cross bike before I got it.  I think it keeps re-living the past!

Track of sand in Belgium. This was closely followed by a cobbled section for extra value fun

Definitely off-road; hard to be comedic due to sense of humour failure...Classic NCN; route 1, somewhere near Invershin on the way to John o' Groats. I'm not sure a bike exists that wouldn't be inappropriate.

Possibly one of those mountain unicycles in the hands of a very skilled rider? But basically... Fuuuuuuck! No wonder you had a sense of humour failure carrying a laden tourer down (or was it up? I'm not sure down would be any easier) all those steps.

Not so much off-road as no road. It was technically a footpath, or at least had been one field ago. It was actually smoother than many roads! But didn't go anywhere.
