I bought a new bike, but hich pedals?

I've been impulsive and today bought a condor tempo!
Having been riding fixie for a while I love it, I've been on spds but would prefer to use spdsl like my roadie. Is there any reason not to do this?

From the department of boring but sensible: Decide what shoes you want to wear and work from there.

When you ride your bike, you don't see the pedals, so they can be any type that works.

Ok, I was thinking that with spdsl being harder to clip in that spd there would be reason not to use them. Sounds like that's not the view so I'll copy my other bikes with som spdsl.
Thanks all

Borrow the pedals from the road bike and see how you get on with them before spending money

it can be tricky to click-in once you get going above certain speed (no problem when you can freewheel).

And the certain speed will depend on the pedal system in use.
I used to be able to manage up to around 90-100 rpm with SPD (18-20 mph on 65") when unclipping for a ford/watersplash.

I've no aversion to anyone wearing SPD-SL on a fixed wheel bike. However, there are some inevitable practicalities that have to be accounted for when riding a bike with only 1 gear.
I wouldn't want to engage the 24" gear with road cleats.

Right! What's next?
Ooooh. That sounds like a daft idea. I am in!

So ordered spd sl in the carbon 105 option. Time will tell

Update:
Tried it - it's all good no drama at all. Hopefully the commute will be the same, but certainly no reason not to use them so far.
