I predict the group stage will see convincing wins against Germany and Argentina then a pathetic collapse against Nowheristan, seeing us qualify in second place before being knocked out on penalties in the second round.

Oh sorry wrong tournament. But there will be a penalty shoot out. There has to be, it's the law!

It was poor. Looks like we will get out the group stages and then crash at the first knockout stage.

Pffft... Talk about  going with the safe prediction!

I think England will be unconvincing in the group stage, but will get through. They will then have a run where they get a shit team/get lucky/actually play well. They will be involved in a penalty shoot out in either the quaters or the semis. They will actually win the shoot out! They will then go on to the final and be surprise winners.

There. That's my prediction  :P
did you have any money on  Leicester to win the Prem?

They'll get through the group stages. I mean, they have to right? Seriously. It's just bunnies in the group stages...

As 16 out of the 24 teams go through to the knock-out stages it would be a very poor show if England failed to make it through the groups.

Realistically I'm guessing that both England and Russia will both beat Wales and Slovakia, so it comes down to whether we can beat Russia as to whether we're top or second in the group.

Cook to score a hole in one in the third quarter before England are penalised for speeding in the pit lane and thus lose to Germany.

Pay attention, Dave: Cook's already been banned for wearing illegal speedos during the Grand National.

Wow... France beat Roumania 2:1.... How embarassing.

For France..

That fact that they only beat them with two points is overshadowed by the fact that Roumania scored a point against France.

Surely it was practically a home match for Roumania given all the immigrationistics.

Sounds like England are playing today from what you say.

I am with friends this evening at their house. Shall I force them to watch England footie? Tomorrow is Germany...

Why, oh fucking why, is our centre-forward, one of the best headers on the team, taking the corners ?
It's not as if he's doing a good job of it.
Roy seems, to me at least, to have got the tactics correct but this ? No.
Let one of the midfield players do it; they're not so good in the air and, should the attack break down, they can get back to cover.

ETA: Go Wales.

Wales top of the group.

Also, Wales fans have been singing, befriending locals and Slovak fans and visiting children's' hospitals with gifts (really) while England fans have been throwing plastic chairs and bottles at anybody who walks past.

Oh well, I suppose it's quite hard to win 1-0.  England looked good, but just never really seemed to be able to make the most of all the chances.

Take an attacking mid-fielder off (Rooney) when you go ahead when the opposition will need to attack and leave space and bring on a defensive player ?
Roy should have brought Vardey on and stretched them.

Piss poor management; I thought the team played well.
