I could be up for a ride out somewhere on Wednesday night.

Any suggestions for location?

I was wondering about trying the Three Compasses at W. Hanningfield some time, but that needn't be this week.  Last time we rode past there were three bikes locked up outside.

I can't make it this week, due to 'Book Club'. [Next week is possible, if I can get out of an AGM :-\]

If you choose any of the Hanningfield pubs, let me know. They are within very easy reach.

I always have a certain antipathy against the 3 compasses, because of the signs outside telling cyclists where to go.

I've never noticed those (mind you I've never stopped when going past).  What do they say?

Changing the subject slightly, casting for this year's panto has begun, I'm sure we have some Thespians amongst us.  I have volunteered to play the Virgin Mary, a role which I believe suits me down to the ground.

It's something to do with not parking bikes on the patio area. I checked streetview to see the wording but the photos they show don't include the signs. IIRC they are rather tersely worded, giving me the impression that cyclists are not properly welcome. That, of course, is just my view, sensitive soul that I am.

I had lunch there a couple of years ago with Delthebike, in the days when he was a cyclist  :P, and it was perfectly OK when we were there, but I don't think the signs were up then.

My day seems to have stalled which will mean it will restart late and delay my escape so unlikely to make it out this evening  :(

That's a shame.

Let me know if things improve as regards getting out tonight.

I may go and ride up and down NH for a bit regardless - will check back here and see what the motivation feels like later on.

There's an outboard motor pump for sale on the forum if anyone wants to emulate Tomsk:
