Mailchimp and Google Calendar (now solved)
« on: 11 July, 2017, 06:43:57 pm »
I run a local folk music and dance listing service (which I have mentioned before). Currently I'm using Mailchimp, as recommended by various people here, and it works very well.
However, I am getting complaints from users (so far just two, but at least that means it's a systemic problem) that they are getting Google Calendar invitations to some of the gigs listed. I am not sure why this is happening. I've done nothing to set it up. I use a separate domain for the folk stuff and it doesn't have a Google account.
The only other thing which might shed light on what's happening is that Google is only picking up the first event in the list and is only sending one invitation (which is probably just as well as the whole message has about 50 events in it and 50 random emails would be even more irritating).

Any suggestions as to what has happened?

TIA

Steve

Thanks nikki

I did a bit more digging and realised that was the issue.
Apparently it's possible to switch it off in the calendar settings, so I've let the two correspondents know.
