One thing I have found over the years are that flash guns are mostly worth what you pay for them, Neewer/Godox are good value, there is a hierarchy: Cheap flash are available, but a false economy, midrange (eg Neewer) will work well, top end (Metz, Manufacturer own) are the best with the manufacturer's own being the most compatible to the various smarts in the camera.
An investment in a decent flash will stand you in good stead, as you advance photographically, even if you can't see the difference at this stage.
