No, that would be a Volvo estate. Or a Morris Minor.  :D

On the telly the other night there was a clip featuring a burned-out Minor.  "Bastards" I thought, until I realised it was archive footage from the 1981 Brixton riot ;D

Tiny Miss AWL was in hospital in Hungary today having her adenoids out. I have to admit I was worried sick.

Anyway, she's had the op, woken up, screamed for a while as the anaesthetic wore off, but then calmed down and mum read her a book. She's in overnight tonight and out tomorrow. Yay!

1) Employer FINALLY launching Bike to Work* at tomorrow's staff meeting

2) n+1 should be delivered from the painters in the next few days.  Then it will only be a few days for the bike to be built up.  Now just need to figure out when I can get up North to collect...

* yes, I'm aware of the upcoming changes re: taxation, etc.

There are no high rise estates in Stroud. The nearest one is on the hill near Minchinhampton, overlooking me. It's called Gatcombe.

Roger has that hill etched into his psyche  ;D

Ordered N+1 on Saturday.  :)

A Revolution Trailfinder.

Cheap, but looked pretty good in the shop. The clearance looks good enough to take winter tyres as well. Not bad for £200.

I just found out that I qualified for the local dressage championships when I competed a few weeks ago!

That's Preliminary at our first competition last year, and Novice at our first registered competition this year (we'd have qualified at our first competition, but I forgot to register us)!  Clever pony!   ;D

A little late but...

At Newmarket nights last Friday, our firend Kim placed two bets on two races.  Both were rank outsiders.  Both came in first place.  She won £900!

Nice looking bike, especially in "Ascot Green".  It reminds me a lot of my old Claud Butler Cape Wrath that I replaced it's worn out suspension fork with a Surly 1x1 steel fork.  A lovely ride. Eventually all the components wore out a few years ago, so, foolishly in retrospect I stripped the bike down, removed the 1x1 fork and donated the frame to local bike recycling company. Kind of missing it now   :'(

My VDO MC 1.0 cycle computer is working again, buttons were sticking making the stopwatch kick in every time I tried to change modes, out of warranty so nothing to lose, took back off and sprayed with WD40, shake then left in sun to evaporate.

Woot!

In other news, it looks like I may well have an interview (well, phone interview) for an iPhone development gig in York, paying twice my current salary (admittedly not difficult) ... here's hoping.

Though if the 19 September version of the release date is correct I shall be on mine holibobs and 5,000 miles away from Probe Plus Records.  Still, when you order a CD from them Geoff e-mails you to make sure you got it, which is something you don't get from EMI.

Well, just to rub it in, I'm seeing them in Cardiff next week, then in Leamington on the 15/9 (a year to the day since Dean Friedman appeared in Bilston). Oh, and talking of Bilston, I'll be there in January too. Three times in 5 months - unheard of! Na, na, na, na, naaa!
