Perhaps the introduction of the BAaSTARD Series is called for:

Back
At
a
Sensible
Time
And
Resisting
Drink*

* - save the odd pint or two

BAaSTARDSTOPO(U)T, if we can find a "U".

I don't think you've grasping the new cincept as firmly as I'd like:

1. More miles less drinking
2. Get home on the same day you set out
3. Return home fitter not drunker
Etc, etc, etc

1.    a waist- or hip-length garment, usually sleeveless, fastening up the front; sometimes made from a quilted fabric, and designed to be worn over a blouse, shirt, etc
2.    a bodice resembling a waistcoat in a woman's dress
3.    such a bodice as part of a ballet dancer's costume

Blouses? Woman's dress? Ballet dancer's costume?

You are now officially a cross dressing ponce!!  :P
Those wonderful norks are never far from my thoughts, oh yeah!

We'e swung round from bobb's left-handed activities to Darcy Bussel.  Are we headed back full circle again?

Bobb's not having a Big Girl, merely a Big Girl Substitute.

As a Yacf newbie i havn't had the chance to experiance the 'Mid-Essex Mid Week Nocturnal Series' where do you meet up and at what time ?
I have vast experinace in in ale/beer/lager drinking (which is why i had to take up cycling in the first place!)
Let me know the time and place and i would love to come along

Andyf, are you Oaky's mate?

There is no set arrangement, you just need to keep an eye on this thread.  In amongst the witty badinage will be the vital info you seek.

Alternatively you can up with a idea and you find like moths to a flame, cyclists with honed and sculpted bodies cycling pi55heads, will flock to your side.  Remember, some are born great, others have greatness thrust upon on them.  You may have been born great, if not greatness could be rudely thrust upon you.  Go to it my new friend

The calendar for this series has run out, temporarily I'm sure, so it's open to anyone to offer a venue of choice and maybe another location for a meet to ride out to.
Over to you Andyf and welcome to Yacf.

... where do you meet up and at what time ?

There are no fixed times or locations. The only thing that is fixed (other than some bikes) is the pub to be patronised! Most MEMWNSers usually meet up en route rather than starting from the same place. Where abouts are you?

Edit: Do you like pickled eggs? That is a must!  :P

Meeting point varies.  Recent ones have set off from Chelmsford @ 7pm (or sometimes Witham @ 7:15).  Both of those times have been largely determined by the train I catch (18:22 from Liverpool St.  (I've also done one, albeit alone until the pub, from Ingatestone which made a nice change).

We're pretty flexible in setting off times though.

There are often a few contingents converging on the pub from different directions/at different times too.

Oh yeah, pickled eggs!  That reminds me, we mustn't forget the elaborate initiation ceremony.  Can anyone remember who's looking after the costumes?  And, on the last two occasions I have towed the altar 52.94 miles (as set out in The Code) behind my bike to the secret and sacrosanct site.  I have to say that towing 2.94 tonnes of marble that far is not funny so I want one of you other lazy good for nothing twerps to do it next time.  I'm fed up  >:(

And forget OD's constant "More miles less beer" He's been saying that for about a year. It hasn't and will never happen!  :P
