2 days to go
« on: 18 June, 2024, 09:20:01 pm »
Thursday I put my bike on the train at Carlisle and head down to Bristol to meet bro' (in law). We head to Lands End in (their) campervan on Friday and start LEJOG on Saturday. No set schedule or evening destinations, just look for somewhere to camp when we've had enough for the day. Been a cyclist since 1973 and it's my first time cycle camping, I've always used hostels on previous tours and travelled light. Excited and anxious too.

Following Richard Barret's Cicerone route with a few diversions to meet friends.

PM to say when you might be passing Stroud and I may come and shout rude things at you!  ;D
It is simpler than it looks.

Is that the Richard Barret who took our photos on your 300 from Stornoway?

Yes, that's him. I get a mention in the acknowledgements because I rode some of the route with him in South Scotland.

Hope you have better weather than I did a few weeks ago! It rained every day at some point throughout England. Was also freezing cold in the far north of Scotland. Between the two it was glorious though  :)
Those wonderful norks are never far from my thoughts, oh yeah!
