Help me ID these bars...
« on: 24 July, 2024, 04:09:24 pm »
Hi All,

Years ago I bought some bars, think quite possibly via flea bay. They where about £22 - I sold the bike they where on but now I'd like to source some more I can't for the life of me find a match or close without getting on for double that price. Anyone got any suggestions / links. Google image search comes up with VO Porteur which is an option I guess but nearly £40 and the rise looks higher? These had little rise on them and a tighter return angle. Stumped.

Please help :)

Getting closer https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/handlebars/nitto-b302aa-north-handlebars-254mm-clamp-silver-490mm/

The bar clamp was stepped in the pic - most are 'bulbed' - don't know if that gives a better clue. Maybe they just no longer exist...

Try a search for on one Mary bars (be careful what websites come up as the planet x one that did looked a little suspicious, might not be) or Nitro Albatross. Don't think either are spot on but the similar Google links might help

Was also going to suggest a Mary bar.

P.S. Planet X and OnOne are the same company, just sub-brands to distinguish their road and mtb ranges

Thanks for all suggestions so far. OK so I should of mentioned my two other requirements apart from not much rise; I'm looking for a narrower bar, maybe 500mm (or less?) and also alloy / silver!

Not much to ask but then again this is the UK...

I've got one, possibly two surplus used pairs of silver VO Porteur bars 22.2mm x 480mm wide (25.4mm clamp dia.), when I can find where I put them ::-)

At one time I had them on 4 bikes with the minimal 15mm 'rise' either pointing downwards or upwards. They were absolutely perfect for me - narrow and very swept back.

PM if interested and I'll do a proper search of the bike bunker :)

They're slightly more swept back than the ones in your photo.

Ah I  knew this but still the planet x website looked a little odd, I know they've had some issues so did wonder if they'd gone and scammers had taken control of website
