Title: Tree Tunnels
Post by: jogler on 05 October, 2011, 01:44:52 pm
Here's a couple on the route from home to Cheadle. The tunnel-effect is somewhat dissapated by the recent & ongoing seasonal leaf-fall.

Nice.  I love roads like that.

Show these pictures to anyone claiming you don't need more than monlight to ride at night.  In fact lights would help there at midday!

Apologies for the lack of puns in ths post.

When I ride them in summertime * with the trees in full-leaf I do switch on a Hope 1 so that there is no delay in oncoming traffic realising that they are not alone in the gloom

*eta
at rush hour hereabouts. This lane is a rat run to avoid Cheadle town centre for those folk working on the Brookhouse Industrial Estate.

Here's a tree tunnel on the Whitchurch ex-railway path.

This one isn't a tree tunnel yet - but should be in a few decades..

Our woods have some good tree tunnels when in leaf - one from last summer

No, is that where your daughter works? I remembered that it was Perry wood, but I couldn't remember which one. :)

She did. She's now at the Horseshoes in East Farleigh - the traveling was too much.

HHHHmmm, nice. Riding down Deak's Lane, near Ansty.

And a little closer in. Yummy lane, though not for your Sunday Best, even in summer.

More of an arch than a tunnel

As I am unable to cycle at the moment....still, would a couple of links to Google be okay.

This one on the way out of Milwich heading uphill is very much more impressive during the summer when the trees are fully in leaf

While this one, on the back lane between Gnosall and Pave Lane, also looks better in person.
