I think I must be one of the first to leave home..

That's a safe bet. I'm still in the "faffing at home"-stage, currently checking the contents of the repair kit and making sure that everything's charged. Given that the start is only 90 minutes by train, I'm only leaving Friday after lunch.

This is the point where I would rather be on the road than worry about things ;-)

Weighed the trike at reFuse (first cafe) where I volunteer. as they have a pallet size set of scales for van loading checks. 26kg! 17.5 of that being the trike...
::

I obv. have too much shit important stuffs; 26Kg / 14Kg bike, and I don't have a spare wheel fitted  ;D

Screw it, can't be bothered to faff again...

See you over there.

Best of luck all. Looks like Iddu’s going for a 7 days and rest of you 8 days. May the weather gods be with you, and if not, may your clothing be up to the task.

Slight drizzle 10m coming over the Downs, avoided the monsoon at Didcot, now on train(s) - I’ll take that as a WIN!

Hit a hole / front Gorilla bag bounced off & 3rd dozy moton drove over it; “SMIDSY(bag)…” - If you can’t see  45 x 20 cm bright ORANGE bag in front of you, shouldn’t be driving luv… >:(
Patina of road rash / snapped clip, but gaffa tape & zip ties to the rescue  :)

Let’s see how the rest of the day goes.

In the Netherlands it looks bad on Monday. It's not that bad east of Hannover is it? But the 2nd part of the week looks wet anyway.
Forgive me Father, for I have sinned. It has been too many days since I have ridden through the night with a brevet card in my pocket...

Pleasant pootle across from the Ferry (with MattC) - lots of bridges, windmills, pretty towns & silly pictures; mostly flat paths  alongside boring Roman roads or thru nice heathland/forest.

One visitation by the PF, no other issues.

At the Postillion, fed, warered,BEER!  ;D

‘night, John boy…

Progress is looking good.

Riders look very nicely spread out.

Is the maximum speed being enforced?

No, Hajo told us he's taking it easy doing full nights of sleep. So it doesn't seem necessary to enforce it.

Huh, what are Tracy and Kevin on their tandem up to? They drove straight east to Hannover and the control at Burg Lutter, ignoring all the controls?

Meanwhile I DNS'd :'( Well, technically a DNF as after dropping off a bunch of RNL flags at the start I did check the first two controls in Zutphen and Arnhem (50km) before turning back to Amersfoort. Just not fit, exhausted and out of breath after just 60km to Deventer that took nearly three hours (mind you, in a comfy velomobile). Today I'm both glad and regretting not being out there  :-\

They're riding with only Kevins tracker. They promised to stay together. Meanwhile the organisation lost Tracy's tracker, luckily we know where it is because it shares it's location! It is with the organisers at Burg Lutter... Not sure yet *where* though.

Update: it has been found. And turned off, I believe.

If they are on the tandem that should be quite easy, although I do remember on LEL2017 managing in the tracking system to send one of the Things southbound from Brampton and one Northbound depite them being on the same bike (the drop bag issue for those who were involved!)

Stalking. my evil twin, innit ?   :P

Younger & fitter than me , so I'll probably need to invoke his OCD - I'll turn his valve collars upside down, that'll make him pause  ;D

Bit of a slog over the sloped yesterday, so only got 90m sleep; Should be leaving tham behind today, so hopefully better tonight.

Just Nomming pizza in Appledorn, with obligatory spares to the back pocket for Ron.

Later dudes...
