My Hampshire
« on: 23 September, 2014, 08:49:32 am »
An opportunity for me (and others) to post photos depicting the lovely county of Hampshire.
Please feel free to add images of the county.

It's also an opportunity for others to start a "My <insert your local county name here>" thread and post flattering photos.

It would be helpful to give a description of where the photo was taken.  That way, if it looks nice, we can cycle there.

Woods between Wherwell and Longparish.

Woods near Mottisfont

The sun breaking through near (above) Overton

Storm clouds over Binley

Kimbridge Farm Shop near Mottisfont ("Annie's Tea Rooms" to all the local cyclists)

The River Test as it runs into Stockbridge.

A fishing hut on the River Test at Longstock

And being rebuilt after it was washed/blown away in 2014 storms (Chapeau to Waitrose Farms for rebuilding it)

A typical summer scene now.  Overlooking the Clatfords from Cow Down.

Storm clouds over St Mary Bourne (forcing me to start walking quickly)

Wheat fields (I think) over St Mary Bourne (with approaching storm, forcing me to quicken my pace yet again)

A YACF camping ride on the lanes near Wyke Down

That's a start.
Some people say I'm self-obsessed but that's enough about them.

After seeing the photo's from Nikki's Test Valley Pootle camping weekend, the area is on my to-do list.

(Idly wonders if Nikki will be organising a repeat in 2015)

A couple of the Basingstoke Canal

and one taken from 27 metres above where the Greywell Tunnel would be if it hadn't collapsed, thereby scuppering the chances of extending the restoration of the Basingstoke Canal as far as Basingstoke.

This thread needs more suicide-pheasants.

Oh, well there's an oversight! I don't seem to have very many photos of my 'ampshire to hand at all!

I did find this one deep in my Flickr account. Cadnam Common, I think

Most of my other photos of the New Forest include muddy - but very happy - dogs.

After seeing the photo's from Nikki's Test Valley Pootle camping weekend, the area is on my to-do list.

I might be persuaded. It did seem to have a lot of the right ingredients.

From my phone as I tried to get from Nether Wallop (yes really) to Middle Wallop...

Can shooting these foolish things really be considered sport when all you really need is a bicycle and a brick?

Surely someone could have lent mercury a jersey for that last photo.

I did try explaining the theme of the photograph to him.
