A pink Mercier, maybe 70s, with Mafac Racer centrepulls, Simplex front changer, Ideale saddle.

Condor Paris bike, I think the "Path" model, anyway it's a modern conventional frame except for partial "bi-lam" lugs/sleeves on the head tube, not the funny Galibier model which is what Paris frames are known for.

£1,300 for an Italian built off the peg frame (fixed geometry in 3cm frame size increments)!

Quite enjoying your thread. I’m guessing you live somewhere exotic: I wouldn’t see that many noteworthy bikes in a month of Sundays.

I think this has the original paint but the name on the down tube has almost disappeared, the head badge and 531 sticker are still there though. Has TA cranks.

A flat plate is better for mounting a rear rack though, like this Raleigh roadster.

Rod brakes, steering lock, dynohub hub gear, chaincase.

I had one similar to that when I was about 15! Except mine was black, had lost its chaincase (maybe I removed it) and was a Philips. Given it by an elderly neighbour. The bike must have been at least twice, quite likely three times, as old as I was. Quite fun to ride, except when I wanted to stop at the roundabout at the bottom of Farmhill Lane, for instance.

But I don't like those forks, 99.99% of people wouldn't notice it and wouldn't care even if they did.

It's purely a personal aesthetic preference. I like the curve to start lower down the fork blades, not halfway. Then the bend should be a smooth continuous curve to the dropouts, without becoming noticeably straight again.

The pink Mercier in the first post is sort of an example but it does become straight just above the dropout.

The Zieleman and Gazelle and the blue unknown frame has the bend lower down but it's a sharp bend and then straightens out.

This bikes seems to only have a coaster brake. Note the forks.

One bike with a coaster brake and one with rod brakes.

99.99% of people may notice it but just not share your view on fork aesthetics

looks like most of these bikes were rescued from a skip. which is a positive feature for a hack bike in london; you want it to be undesirable in order to still find it after leaving it on the street. it needs to function properly though (decent brakes, oiled chain etc.).
