Sorry to hear your not coming arellcat  :'(, you'll be missed.
I am starting my attempt to ride up tomorrow morning. My knees seem to be working OK for the last week  but the compressed disc in my lower back is not 100% pain free so I will be hoping it doesn't go ping enroute

Alternatively, there's some BHPC rushing about[1] at the Sport Village on Sunday afternoon.  Open to anyone over the age of 10 on something human-powered with a functional brake, no stabby bits and a magic hat.  Will we get an entry for the coveted "Bike bought for less than £50 at the auction the night before" category?

And there may be a record number of old bikes in the auction this year thanks to a big donation of stuff.

I'd hoped to ride over this year, but family illness means I don't want to go until the last minute, so will be getting the train over on Friday.

I'm not going to be able to make it due to life intervening but I hope you all have a fab weekend!

I had that Graham Moult sat on the wall outside the Vicarage today. Fastest British PBP at one point (?) He is touring his way from the south to York Rally via a couple of days in Kettlewell from tonight.

I have left it as later as possible before completely ruling out my attendance this year. However I shall not be able to get there. Have a great time to all who are going.

I’m on pitch Z6 if anyone wants to avoid me !
It’s sunny but breezy.  We’ve just had a flypast by the Red Arrows, which was a nice touch by the organisers.   This year’s must have gadget seems to be the little pumps for your mat.  You can hear them whirring away.

Cycleman was a few pitches down from me when I arrived, but has now moved.  Do I snore or something…….?

I should be on my way shortly...I'm without the must-have gadget and will be relying on lung power, which since I'm riding a very minimal distance to get there shouldn't be a problem!
Think it possible that you may be mistaken.

I think there’s an overlap in the noise of mini pumps and snorers!

Yesterday I saw both the rich forests and the clariflys wondering around..supper was a burger followed a little later by fish and pasta .I then had a good night's sleep 😴. I will go on the slow  planets ride this morning and watch the track racing this afternoon  :)

Loitering outside my tent, contemplating breakfast.  I have a mild sore throat, that usually means I was snoring!    Now being lightly showered upon.

Lovely to see everyone, and to meet and talk to cycleman at last.

Scarpered earlier this affa - a couple of mates were plying me with beer, it was escape or an afternoon of solid drinking.

And lovely to meet you deano  .I got to King's Cross and had rebuilt the tricon gr after it's confinement in a bike locker by around 830pm and had present enough Potter across London and along the a4 cycleway back to Slough arriving shortly after midnight..knees quite painful this morning however  :(.
Many thanks to everyone who has helped me when all seemed to go wrong. I am hoping that this has not been my last york Rally and time will tell  but I determined not to put myself in need of assistance as happened on this trip.
I have enjoyed helping out at the Rally in the very limited way I can. At least I have put a little bit back of support I have been given on this and previous rallies  :)

And we're having an auspicious start to our journey home, courtesy of a check engine light on the shitty hire van.  Waiting for the AA to come and plug in a dongle and suck their teeth...

An, the good old check engine light.  Amazing how one light can stop a vehicle operating ...  😉

Hope that it's nothing serious and you get home soon.

AA man diagnosed a faulty adblue injector and disconnected the pump. We're now proceeding to Brum with the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree and instructions not to turn it off in case it refuses to restart. At least we're not spewing ammonia smoke now. Watching the EV drivers fighting with apps at the services and reckon they have a better deal...

Just home and unloaded van. Kim is getting electrolytes before taking empty van to get fuel and return it to Europcar and try and blag a discount for various things not working.

TOO HOT.
