Title: PBP hotels
Post by: yanto on 30 October, 2022, 08:42:20 pm
As I have Best Western loyalty points sitting unused I thought I would pamper myself rather than sleeping in the car as I did in 2019 and book into BW Rambouillet.

PBP week is fully booked  >:(

Virtually all Rambouillet hotels have been fully booked for months.

Naive me thought 10 months was being eager and prepared  ;D, looks like back of the car again!

I got into the place I’ve used in the past but it’s 25k from the start.

Hotels tend to free up closer to the time as plans go a bit wayward.

As above, as plans go awry I’m sure hotels will free up.  Plenty of hotels / options within 20km.

I bet the gap between places being released and someone else booking them will be very short indeed for hotels in Rambouillet, places further afield will be easier to find. If there is no bike check this time, staying further away is less hassle, just use public transport for check in.

Yep.

Just over half an hour from Paris Montparnasse, trains every 30 mns on a Sunday iirc.

I did that train journey Sat & Sun in 2019 and it was no problem.  No bike check in 2023 will make the same / similar journeys easier yet

Not exactly a hotel but Huttopia Rambouillet is now accepting bookings for next August. Somewhat more expensive than the last time we booked there.

I bet those trains aren't running at 1am, so would have been no use to me when I finished in 2019, having a 10 minute ride to the hotel was great.

My tip as well.
If you band together with a few other participants, the cottages at the campsite are quite affordable (around 250,- per person for a full week).

I look at the different budget hotels occasionally. In 2015 I didn’t mind the F1 hotels on the Friday and Saturday night before the start, and the night(s) after the finish.
