We're not far from there and unsurprisingly they are not offloading any of our containers from the ships due today.

Mr von Brandenburg has gigs in That Yorkshire tonight and tomorrow and is slightly worried that the band may have an acute guitarist shortage due to their both living within a stone's throw of the Trent.

Serious flooding in Shropshire and Suffolk too.
Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.

It is currently quiet and calm in Cambridgeshire.  There's been a little bit of rain but nothing too heavy.

I completely agree with Reg.

Mrsc is currently near Chesterfield. Just reported having to make 45mile detour and drive through floods to get there.

Warm and a normal amount of flooding in Silly Oak.  No danger of the fridges being washed away, though some paper-based litter has been reduced to pulp on our doorstep.

In FORRIN parts there is also heavy rain & flooding in Spain and France.

Managed to fight the wind to add to my Bridge photo project. By far the highest water level so far.

It's pretty bad round here.

GWR under water near Royal Wootton Bastard, according to the Beeb.

Mr von Brandenburg has successfully reached Rotherham and set up his drums though.

Whilst that video is quite cool, have these nuggets never heard of people getting killed by falling trees?

Also, I have just seen what the forum code for the emoji above is  ;D
Do not clench. It only makes it worse.

Must have rained very heavily last night even in Surreyshire judging by the debris at the bottom of the hill and in the town centre (which is in the deep décolletage of the valley). Was pretty soggy on the way home, though I made sure I experienced that from the back of a taxi so I didn't get my paws wet.

On Staffordshire Derbyshire border and 3 out of four roads into the village are flooded into the houses.

Will there be an audience?  Rotherham's roundball match cancelled because the Don has flooded.

Water level at Brechin was forecast for 5m,the flood defences are built for a slightly more than normal 3.8m, only made it to 4.4m as far as I can find.

Du dees a mess too along with the usual, why's my house built beside an old mill lade/on a flood plane  flooded... Including the site of the new Dundee north school campus, it's not like someone wasn't jetskiing on it last time it flooded I 2016

At least one “audience” member has showed up, albeit that in the work cat-enforced absence of Miss von Brandenburg she’s doubling as merch sales operative.

Looks like lots of flooding in Bewdley on the Severn, for some reason they didn't use their flood barriers in time.

Something like 25mm rain over 3 days for us. That's relatively unusual without being exceptional. Wednesday this week was the wettest day I've recorded this year, with 16.6mm rain. That's actually pretty puny for the wettest day of the year. Days yielding 25mm or so usually happen once or twice a year.

The temperature has been holding up very well. The past 4 days have ranged between 12 and 18°C and although I've turned the heating on, the thermostat hasn't let it.

You may remember the YouTube videos of a near-empty Ladybower Reservoir in 2022.  Well, there is now a risk it will overtop the dam.

I am in Suffolk at the moment and yesterday our lunchtime trip for cake at The Shed in Ipswich had to be abandoned as on the two different routes there I judged the road flooding to be too deep (for my SLK). I walked to have a look at the situation late afternoon and the flooded country lanes were impressive.

Ordered a pizza for delivery that evening and he made it through though.
