A Sad Day In The Back Garden
« on: 26 May, 2024, 09:51:21 pm »
Recently we have had some amusing visits from the local nesting pair of woodpigeons.

Earlier this week they introduced their newest offspring to us, initially just beak to beak feeding in a tree, then ground visits to our garden eating solid food.

In the last couple of days the young one has been visiting on its own.
Sadly today it crashed in to an upstairs window, slid down the sloping roof of the lean-to extension, hit the ground and died in front of me.
An nescis, mi fili, quantilla prudentia mundus regatur?
