Where are the camels? !!!

The camels - bactrians in this case - were imported from the distant steppes of, er, Arizona by some Victorian-era chump who thought they might make better beasts of burden than anything of the equine persuasion but it turned out that they scared the horses and cattle and, sometimes, people.  And the rugged rocks of BC hurt their little camelly feet.  Having proved a bust the unfortunate creatures were released into the wild where they all died by 1905.  Some commentators believe that camel sightings may have helped fuel the stories of the Sasquatch in these parts, but then some commentators believe that Elvis works in a fast food joint in Des Moines IA.

Anyway, today's crop:

A couple of big Danish bridges:

Øresund

At first glance, that looks like a very expensive engineering project with no function. I then noticed that the road and rail line enter/ exit a tunnel ;D

181 Crow Park Bridge, genuinely with no function (unless you count holding the road up over the no-longer-a-canal)

Rather than plunge into the Kendal suburbs just yet, let's go south again and head towards Lancaster.  118, Hest Bank Bridge

That last one's a very good bridge photo – even though it isn't, so to speak. Perhaps we could have Ferns and Brackens thread?

Sorry Cudz - these last few just north of Lancaster have proved to be a bit boring, so I've struggled to find interesting pics that still have a decent amount of bridginess about them.  It's nearly all over now though  ;)

Nothing to be sorry for, they are really good photos even if they don't show bridges in their bridgy state.

111A, Milestone Bridge-to-be.  Part of the new M6-Heysham road.  Not quite up to phil653's viaduct in Extremadura, but exciting nevertheless to see the birth of a whole new bridge.

There's even a bonus un-named, un-numbered temporary bridge, from the fabulously-named retrobridge.com:

Much-crossed, rarely-photographed (by me), Croft Bridge and the Yorkshire border:

The banks to either side are verdant in summer, and the lingering scent of rotting giant hogweed permeates the air. Lewis Carroll's father was rector at the church, and the xlaim is that the landscape inspired Alice in Wonderland. There's meant to be a Cheshire Cat carving somewhere on the church, but I've never spotted it.

While I was there, I tried to get a look at the even-more-frequently crossed and never-photographed (by me) Tees Viaduct. This was the best I could do:

I'm not competing with Bill, by the way ;D I do have a plan to cycle across all the bridges of the Tees in a day, but I doubt I'll be photographing many of them on that day. Besides, I don't think there are many bridges on the Tees which aren't already on this thread.

Finally, bonus bridge at Monk End:

Oh, gerron wi' it!  :D  I reckon I've only got a week's worth of canal bridges left...

Surprisingly (or possibly not), I have a similar idea for the River Kent.  As it's about 20 miles long, I make my plan about 75% less ambitious than yours.

Bill,

You could always do a reciprocal route, photographing all the bridges again, this time form the other side ;)

But I've already taken the best side of each of 'em!  Who on earth would want to see a photo a day, for 3 months, of the ugly side of a canal bridge?  Don't answer that.

As a counterpoint to the molishing of 111A, here's the absence of 183, Natland Road Bridge, on the way into Kendal.  Removed to make way for, ironically enough, Natland Road

Down at t'other end, 111, Hammerton Hall Bridge has so far survived the encroachment of the Lancaster suburbs,

In fact, not only surviving, but positively thriving
