Good chiaroscuro.

And I spelt that right first go.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

One from, of course, the Graun:
Quote
He said the PWR reactors are “a lot safer” than the reactors at Chernobyl, and did not appear to be damaged yet. The reactors have large concrete contaminants and built-in fire protection systems, he said,
Hmm, I think you mean "containments" to, erm, contain the contaminants.

No sub-editors + auto-carrot = shit English (and no doubt other langauges).

The best I saw was undoubtedly deliberate, it being in the Sunday Times in the late '60's/early 70's, and hidden down in the very small print at the bottom of the TV listings

And a particularly unfortunate example:

Best I heard in that line was quoted by Alan Coren: "It was supposed to read 'she peered at herself in the mirror' but they left the R out."

A rugby match report some years ago referred to the 'blue shits of Scotland.'

It was the Grauniad though, so anyone's guess as to whether it was a dig or merely a typo.

I saw somewhere a clip (almost certainly Private Eye) in which the line "and the boat capsized" was upside down.

This does not exactly inspire confidence.

This one didn't make me cringe, more of a giggle.
Someone on our local Nextdoor is asking if anyone has a spare stargate they no longer need.
To stop the dog going upstairs apparently.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.
