A work colleague is after new tyres (spec tricross).

I was recommending bontrager hard case - but struggling to find stockists. What's the best place online?

He's after 700 x 28-32mm

I bought mine from the corner shop, aka York Cycleworks!

(with 10% baker's discount.  I love the corner shop :))

Apologies all for the bump on this, but I've started to get worried that the rigid version of this tyre has bitten the dust.
In times past I got them from Evans, AW in Reading, Pedal On in Tadley, et al.
The only ones I can find now are folding versions, and they don't fit the rims on my singlespeed bike at all.
I also struggle with Gators, and Vittoria Rubino Pro folding are a non-starter.
Have considererd Schwalbe Duranos, but must admit being able to fit Hardcases with no more than a Crank Bros speed lever is very satisfying and I'd rather not give it up!

JE James claims to have them in stock, in both 28 and 32s (23 and 25s as well).  The description says that they're wire bead, which doesn't surprise me at that price (Fab Foodie also mentioned them back in June, in the post before yours).

It's odd that you're having problems with folding ones.  I've never had problems with getting folding tyres onto rims, all the problematic tyres I've ever had to deal with have been wire beaded ones.  What rims are you using?
Actually, it is rocket science.

This last week I got a 28 and two 32's of these tyres from my LBS. They did have to order them for me and I paid £20 but don't mind paying over the odds a bit to keep them in business.

Umm - not sure to be perfectly honest. They're the wheels that came with my Revolution Track when I bought it two years ago, but they've nothing to identify them.
The current ad for the bike says
Rims    Revolution, Alloy, Double Wall, 32h
That's all I know.

Fair enough.  I was wondering if it was going to be useful information for the Difficulty in installing tyres? thread.
Actually, it is rocket science.

I've been checking that thread for a while, and this experience seems a bit random so not sure that thread helps a lot.
Might share my 2p on it though.
