Proofide on walking boots?

No - but the composition probably isn't dissimilar from this stuff - which I use all the time since I got sold a pot with some boots I bought in the States.

Colts foot oil is another option, but can leave a  bloom on the leather

Nope - it's too bloody expensive to use on boots!  Use dubbin instead.

Do you mean colts foot? Neats foot oil is more usual.

I use grangers on my walking boots, it's what my Dad used to use so I just nicked his old tin!

Thanks. I've used dubbin for now.
It's just that I only treat my brooks once or twice a year, and at that rate it'll take ages to use up the tin I have. So I might still treat my boots while they're still new... ;)

Yes.

Just put some on my new DM boots.  I haven't owned a Brooks saddle for years, and never will, so the expensive Proofide will be used on these instead.
